What this service is
Blue Hen Pros is a referral and matching service. We introduce homeowners to independent contractors. We are not a home improvement contractor, we hold no contractor’s license, and we do not perform, supervise, warranty, or insure any construction work. Any work you have done is performed under a contract between you and the contractor. We are not a party to it.
What we do and don’t promise
- We do verify, before a contractor joins our network, that they hold an active Delaware business license and current general liability insurance, and that they service the areas they sign up for. We re-check periodically.
- We don’t guarantee any contractor’s workmanship, pricing, timeline, conduct, or the outcome of your project. We cannot — we don’t do the work. Verify licensing and insurance yourself, get the scope in writing, and read the contract before you sign it.
- We don’t guarantee that you will receive three quotes, or any quotes. Contractor availability varies.
How we’re paid
The service is free to homeowners. Contractors in our network pay us a referral fee for qualified projects. We disclose this in the footer of every page because you deserve to know what our incentive is.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information about your project and your contact details.
- Don’t use the service to submit anyone else’s details without their permission.
- Do your own due diligence before hiring anyone — including anyone we introduce you to.
Disputes with a contractor
Your contract is with the contractor, so a dispute over the work is between you and them. That said — tell us. Homeowner complaints are how contractors get removed from our network, and we’d rather know.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Delaware law, Blue Hen Pros is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or cost arising from work performed by a contractor, from any contract you enter into with a contractor, or from your use of this site. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service will not exceed what you paid us — which is zero.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware.
